2.5D Process proof of concept/Street Fighter fanart

I am working on a new to me method of illustration, 3D backgrounds and 2D characters. I was originally going to try and learn enough to make reference images for my illustrations but something about the combination kind of worked for me. the These aren't perfect but I am pretty pleased with what I could could achieve. Splitting the image in to parts and compositing is getting me over some humps and letting me try some more interesting compositions.
